Last night Miss World Peru 2009 was crowned at the Circuito de Aguas Park in Lima, Peru. The winner was Claudia Maria Carrasco, Miss Cuzco, the first ever winner from her department. The new queen was crowned by Maria Julia Mantilla, Miss World 2004, from Peru.
Miss Pasco, Tatiana Simon, was the 1st runner-up, and received the title Miss Tourism Queen Peru 2009. She will represent Peru in China next month.
Miss Lima, Jimena Rumini, was the 2nd runner-up, followed by Miss Arequipa, Pieriangel Daniela Dodero, 3rd runner-up, Miss La Libertad, Maria Lourdes Mantilla, 4th runner-up, and Miss Tumbes, Diana Carolina Limo, the 5th runner-up.
The show was hosted by Silvia Cornejo, Miss World Peru 2006 and Miss Tourism Queen 2008, and telecast live by Canal 7.
The beautiful new Miss World Peru will now get ready to represent her country in Miss World 2009, in South Africa, on December 12.

21 year-old Jennifer Colon Alvarado, a professional model and architecture student from Bayamon, was crowned Miss Mundo de Puerto Rico 2009 on a televised event held at the Tapia Theater in Old San Juan with the participation of 24 contestants.
The first runner-up was Yara Lasanta from Barranquitas and Melissa Serrano from Vega Baja was second runner-up. Isabela's Amanda Diaz and Juncos' Libni Garcia finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
Prior to the competition, several fast-track events were held to select the best contestant in sports, modeling, swimsuit, talent and charity.
The fast-track winners were Rebecca Fernandez, Culebra (Sports); Jennifer Colon, Bayamon (Model); Yara Lasanta, Barranquitas (Swimsuit); Mariselle Morales, Guaynabo (Talent); and Jennifer Ortiz, Orocovis (Charity).
Colón, who stands 1.75m, will represent Puerto Rico at the 59th Miss World pageant to be held on Johannesburg, South Africa on December 12.

Twenty-four-year-old Amy Diaz is the winner of Miss USA Earth 2009. The beauty queen who graduated cum laude from Barry University with the degree of Broadcast Journalism will be representing USA at the 9th edition of the Miss Earth pageant in Manila, Philippines later this year.Amy is a veteran of beauty pageants. She was Miss Rhode Island 2008 and went on to compete at the Miss USA 2008 where she made the Top 15. She also competed at the Miss Florida USA 2007 where she placed third runner-up. But prior to these two pageants, Amy was already a Miss Rhode Island Teen USA in 2001. She represented Rhode Island at The Miss Teen USA 2001.
Amy's court includes Miss Fire (first runner-up) Dani Reeves of Iowa, Miss Water (second runner-up) Anastagia Pierre of Florida and Miss Air (third runner-up) Danielle Bounds of Missouri.

An aspiring performer from Canberra has been crowned Miss World Australia. Sophie Lavers, 24, was crowned at a ceremony in Sydney tonight, beating 19 other hopefuls.
Wearing a cream dress adorned with silky flowers, Ms Lavers grinned and accepted a bouquet of red roses. The sparkly tiara was a little too big for her head and she mouthed to the crowd: "My crown doesn't fit''.
Ms Lavers is completing an acting course and hopes to work in the television or film industry.
She will represent Australia at the Miss World competition in Johannesburg, South Africa on December 12.

Last night, at the Metropole Hilton Hotel in London, 20-year-old Rachel Christie made it into history books for winning the title of Miss England 2009 and thus becoming the first black woman ever to do so. At the same time, Christie, niece of the famous gold medalist Linford Christie, also became the first Miss England with high hopes of winning a medal in the 2012 Olympics. Speaking of her win, Christie said she was surprised she was actually crowned Miss England, despite the fact that, before the pageant, bookies had her as the favorite. Being black and becoming the first black woman to hold the beauty title means a lot for Christie, since she hopes other girls her age will find in her example the motivation to pursue her dreams no matter the race. She will now represent England an the Miss World 2009 pageant in Southafrica.

Gorgeous Lucy Whitehouse was crowned winner of Miss Wales 2009.The competition held at Cardiff International Arena raised more than £115,000 for charity.The overjoyed Barry Hospital nurse won the title in front of an audience of 400.The 21-year-old said: “I had no idea I would win, there were so many more amazing girls there than me here.“I never thought I would do this but now I want to raise as much money as I can for charity.”

Miss A Coruña, Estibaliz Pereira (23) was crowned Miss Spain 2009 during the annual event held this time in Cancun, Mexico, on July 18th. The model and student of Fashion Design stands 1.81 m tall and will represent Spain at the Miss Universe and Miss World 2009 pageants.
The 1st runner-up was Miss Granada (Carmen García), who will represent Spain in Miss Europe 2009; and the 2nd runner-up was Miss Jaen (Alejandra Echevarría) who will compete in Miss International 2009 to take place in Japan and Macau.
Completing the Top 6 were the contestants from Sevilla, Málaga and Córdoba.

En un evento realizadó el viernes 17 de julio se corono la Saltillense Abril Rodriguez como Nuestra Belleza Coahuila 2009.
Los conductores del evento fuero el actor René Stickler y Marisol González, quien fué Nuestra Belleza 2003 y actualmente es conductora de Televisa Deportes. El jurado nombró como segundo lugar a Elsie María Vargas, originaria de Torreón y ganadora de un ipod. La suplente, en caso de que la ganadora no pudiera asistir a los eventos programados, es para Lourdes Gabriela Rodríguez representante de ciudad Acuña, acreedora a una pantalla de 32 pulgadas.
La saltillense Abril Alejandra Rodríguez Fernández fue la última en ser nombrada Nuestra Belleza Coahuila 2009, con lágrimas en los ojos y emoción, recibió la corona de manos del Secretario de Turismo, José Luis Moreno y las felicitaciones de Amanda Terry Mondragón, coronada hace un año.Entre los regalos para la nueva reina destaca la entrega de 25 mil pesos y por un año mensualidades de 9 mil 740 pesos, además de bonos de belleza.
Además, Abril Rodríguez fue premiada por su elegancia, el mejor rostro fue Lourdes Rodríguez, premio a la distinción para Cinthia Rodríguez y Miss Simpatía es Paola Ramírez.

La noche del viernes 17 de julio, se llevó a cabo la final de Nuestra Belleza Colima 2009. Al final de la velada se corono Giselle Huerta Dueñas, como la máxima exponente de la belleza colimense. La hermosa joven mide 1.76 metros, es originaria del municipio de Colima, tiene 23 años y es Contadora Pública. Giannina reconoció que el participar en Nuestra Belleza es un sueño que ha tenido desde niña. “Si quedo electa, quiero hacer un buen papel a nivel nacional”, confirmó días antes ante los micrófonos de Radio Levy y reveló su amabilidad y simpatía.Margarita Sánchez Acevedo, originaria de Manzanillo, fue nombrada finalista suplente, en caso de que algún motivo le impida a Giannina participar en los concursos posteriores.
Giannina Giselle, ganadora de Nuestra Belleza Colima 2009, participará en el certamen nacional que se celebrará en Yucatán, el sábado 19 de septiembre. En este concurso se seleccionarán a las representantes de México para Miss Universo, Miss Mundo y Miss International.

Los ojos tapatíos de Jimena Navarrete Rosete conquistaron la corona y la banda de Nuestra Belleza Jalisco 2009, durante la final del certamen que se realizó la noche del 16 en Guadalajara, Jalisco.
La joven estudiante de nutrición a sus 21 años y con 1.74 metros de estatura, arrasó con todos los premios, ya que también fue distinguida como Señorita Fotogenia.
En el majestuoso Auditorio Telmex, Jimena Navarrete obtuvo asimismo un reconocimiento del patrocinador Organic Nails y fue designada como Nuestra Belleza Web, al obtener más votos de los cibernautas, por lo cual recibió un cheque de 20 mil pesos.
Como suplente y segundo lugar se eligió a Alma Janeth Perez Palencia, originaria de Guadalajara, quien tiene 20 años y mide 1.76.
También quedaron entre las cinco finalistas Sandra Luz Vargas Plazota, de Puerto Vallarta, 22 años y 1.77 de altura; Natalia Quiñónez Pérez, de Zapopan, 23 años y mide 1.78; y Rocío América Ramírez Álvarez, de Jalostotitlán, que tiene 19 años y mide 1.73 que fue Srita. Turismo Region de los Altos en 2007 y gran favorita de los medios para alzarce con la corona.
El jurado estuvo integrado por la productora de telenovelas Karla Estrada y el actor, piloto de carreras y productor Israel Jaitovich. También emitieron su voto, Angélica Fuentes de Vergara y el presidente de Omnilife y del equipo del Guadalajara, Jorge Vergara. Así como, Miss Continente Americano, Lupita González; Carlos Antonio Rico, productor de Nuestra Belleza México; y la coordinadora de Nuestra Belleza Jalisco, Ofelia Correa, quien tenía el voto de calidad en caso de empate.
También asistió Nuestra Belleza México 2009, Karla Carrillo, así como Mayra González, quien cedió su corona de Nuestra Belleza Jalisco 2008 a la nueva soberana.
Aunque no obtuvieron un lugar, también participaron en el certamen Luisana Lizárraga Osuna, originaria de Zapopan, que tiene 22 años y mide 1.68 de estatura. Además, Elsa Marcela Ortíz Ramírez, quien vive en Guadalajara, cuenta con 18 años y mide 1.68; IlianaMaciel Viñas, de Guadalajara, de 19 años y con 1.69 de altura; Lorenia Martínez Malo, de Guadalajara, de 20 años y que mide 1.69. Por su parte, Rahiza Dayana Martínez Ramírez es originaria de Jalostotitlán, tiene 22 y mide 1.75; María Magdalena Palacios Gutiérrez, de Puerto Vallarta, tiene 23 años mide 1.71.
Ahora Jimena, tendra la responsabilidad de hacer que la corona se quede en su estado despues de que la ganadora nacional del año pasado Karla Carrillo es de Jalisco. De igual manera Jimena intentara ser la tercera jalisciense en ser coronada Nuestra Belleza Mexico.

Fabiola Pinal Montesinos, originaria de la Ciudad de los 30 Caballeros, fue electa por un selecto jurado como Nuestra Belleza Veracruz 2009 representando a la mujer veracruzana en la etapa nacional de dicho certamen, próximo a efectuarse en septiembre en el estado de Yucatán.
La elección de la mujer más bella de Veracruz tuvo lugar en el WTC de Boca del Río ante una numerosa asistencia entre empresarios, conocedores de la belleza, diseñadores de moda e imagen.
En tanto, Fabiola Pinal aseguró que desea ganar el certamen nacional, ya que esto también le permitiría participar en Miss Universo, y en otros concursos internacionales.Voy a dar lo mejor de mí para obtener el triunfo en Nuestra Belleza México; creo que ante todo esta la humildad para desempeñar un papel trascendente en esta etapa de mi vida”, comentó.Apuntó que tiene otros intereses aparte de los certámenes señalando que más adelante le gustaría estudiar la carrera de Gastronomía, además de colaborar en campañas sociales para beneficio de quienes más lo necesitan.Cabe mencionar que desde 1988, ninguna representante de la entidad veracruzana ha ganado el certamen de Miss México.La última en hacerlo fue Adriana Abascal López Cisneros, “y por eso ahora buscaremos cambar de nuevo la historia”, resaltó Ignacio Gómez, quien al mismo tiempo aseguró que Fabiola Pinal seguirá teniendo todo el apoyo del Gobierno del Estado y de Televisa.

Miss Tourism Queen International 2009 kicks-off on August 8, in the province of Heinan, China. The final event will take place in Zhengzhou, on October 28.

Destacada por su belleza y simpatía, la representante de Apatzingán, Itzel Viridiana García Rojas de 20 años, obtuvo la corona en el certamen Nuestra Belleza Michoacán 2009, en segundo lugar Hilda Paulina Fabián Guerrero, originaria de Tocumbo y en tercero, Celia Edith Mendoza Castillo de Los Reyes. La ganadora tiene como principal premio el representar a Michoacán en el certamen nacional con sede en la ciudad de Mérida, Yucatán el próximo 19 de septiembre.
La ganadora del título Nuestra Belleza Michoacán 2009 se hizo acreedora a un premio en efectivo, a una membrecía por un año en el club Britania, un juego de joyería de Mathus, beca por un semestre en la carrera de modelaje profesional en el Instituto Modstil, un guardarropa de lujo, un paquete de libros por parte de la Secretaría de Cultura, un cambio de imagen y un kit de productos, entre otros premios.

Alejandra Cabral Cabrera de 19 años de edad, de 1.70 de estatura, estudiante de la carrera de administración financiera en el Tecnológico de Monterrey fue electa la madrugada del sábado, "Nuestra Belleza Querétaro 2009" certamen que se realizó en una noche de gala en el club de Industriales. Ocho fueron las participantes a este evento de belleza, en el cual mostraron sus cualidades a través de las diferentes etapas que se fueron desarrollando, primero con una colorida coreografía, después aparecieron en traje de baño, vestido de cóctel y por último en hermosos atuendos de gala.Daniela Nieto, Jessica Buitrón, Maricarmen Sánchez, María Guadalupe Licea, Paulina Cabrera, Venus Medina y Yenisei Gómez fueron las chicas que participaron junto a la ahora ganadora de la corona y el cetro, que le permitirá participar en el concurso nacional a desarrollarse en próximas fechas en un estado del norte del país.Como invitadas de honor en esta noche de bellezas se encontraba Perla Beltrán, Miss Mundo 2008; Abigail Serrano, Nuestra Belleza Aguascalientes 2009 y Ana Catherina Castrejón, Nuestra Belleza Querétaro 2008, ésta última señorita se despidió con un mensaje de agradecimiento a todas las personas que la apoyaron, pero en especial a su estado, por permitirle representarlo en un evento nacional tan importante, con palabras de ella misma, "estoy agradecida, emocionada y muy contenta por todo este año de grandes éxitos".Después de tres horas de nerviosismo y de entregar lo mejor de ellas en el escenario, las participantes conocieron el veredicto final, que favoreció a Alejandra Cabral, quien recibió corona y banda, de manos de las invitadas especiales.

Aileen Jan “A.J.” Valdehueza-Yap, 20, who representing the state of Texas won the prestigious title Miss U.S. International 2009 will represent the US in the 49th Miss International pageant to be held at the Venetian Macao Resort in Macau, China on November 7, 2009.

Wednesday July 8 night was the 2009 Miss Korea Pageant venue and it was packed with friends and family waiting to welcome the country's next beauty queen. Kim Joo-ri, who entered the contest as Miss Seoul, was crowned Miss Korea at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Seoul. The 21-year-old looked surprised when Chang Jae-ku, the chairman of the Hankook Ilbo Media Group, finally announced her name, but she smiled as she was crowned by former Miss Korea Na Re."I am so happy and I thank everybody who has been cheering for me. I'm happy, but I believe this means I will have to try harder to uphold the Miss Korea spirit. I promise I will do my best" Kim said. Kim is a graduate from the Bolshoi Ballet School. Fluent in English and Russian, she dreams of becoming a ballerina or a diplomat.
The two first runner-ups were Cha Ye-lin (22, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies) and Seo Eun-mi (21, Yeongnam University).
There were four second runner-ups ― Park Ye-ju (22, Parsons School of Design) also crowned as Miss Korea-Natural F&P; Choi Ji-hee (22, Dongduk Women's University) also crowned as Miss Korea-Hankook Ilbo; You Su-jung (21, Mokwon University) and Lee Seul-gi (21, Dongduk Women's University). Pop group SHINee, SG Wannabe and popera singer Rose Jang also appeared at the venue to celebrate the event, while the contestants showed off their talents by participating in various group performances.
The new Misses from Korea will represent Korea at Miss Universe, Miss International, Miss World, Miss Earth and Miss International Beauty competitions.

Martina Lee is 24 years old and beat other 6 candidates with a her vital statistics of 34-23-32.A new beauty queen 1.78 m. Martina will be the next ambassador representing Germany at the Miss Universe 2009 beauty pageant contest.Miss Universe 2009, the 58th Miss Universe beauty pageant contest, will be held at the Atlantis Paradise Island, in Nassau, Bahamas on August 23, 2009. Ana Carolina Madeira, one of the most popular participants in the 9th edition of Big Brother Brazil, held earlier this year, was crowned Miss Brazil Leisure (Miss TQ Fernando de Noronha 2009), and will represent the Brazilian archipelago at the Miss Tourism Queen International 2009 pageant, in China.
Ana Carolina is 24 years old, 1.72 m-tall, has a degree in Law and is an animals advocate. "I have more than 10 dogs. I love dogs and I get involved in all kinds of movements to protect animals".

The Miss World Brazil 2009 pageant took place last Saturday night at the Novo Frade Hotel, in Angra dos Reis, and the winner was Luciana Bertolini, 24 y-o, 1.76 m-tall, a student of Journalism who represented the state of Roraima. The first runner-up was Livia Barraque, Miss Espírito Santo, and the 2nd runner-up was Livia Nepomuceno, Miss Distrito Federal.
The other two finalists were Karine Osorio, Miss World Acre, Isabel Correia, Miss World Sergipe.The Fast-track winners were Anelise Laulau, Miss Campeche Island (Sports), Karine Barros, Miss Pernambuco (Talent), Mariana Notarangelo, Miss Rio de Janeiro (Beach Beauty), Isabel Correia, Miss Sergipe (Best Model), Cristiane Kampa, Miss Paraná (Beauty With a Purpose) and Amanda Froes, Miss Bahia (Miss Popularity).Miss Santa Catarina Island, Elisa Hoeppers, won the Most Beautiful Gown Award, and Miss Paraíba, Alessandra Vilela, was electedMiss Congeniality and Miss Hospitality Novo Frade (elected by the host hotel crew).The new Miss Brazil won R$ 20.000 cash, a trip to Italy, courtesy of The Leading Hotels of the World, worth $15.000 Euros, a full university scholarship, worth nearly USD 65.000,00, and much more.Luciana’s sister was Miss World Brazil in 1998. She competed in the Seychelles and placed in the top 10. She is getting ready to carry on Tamara Almeida’s work as ambassador to the environment.She will represent Brazil in Miss World 2009, to be held in London, Dubai and South Africa. It’s the first time an international pageant will be hosted by 3 countries in 3 different continents.

Demetra Olimpiou won the Star Cyprus contest held in Nicosia on July 4th. The black haired beauty will represent Cyprus at the Miss Universe 2010 contest.
Chosen as Miss Cyprus 2009 was Christalla Tsiali, who will represent the country at the Miss World 2009 pageant in Johannesburg, South Africa, next December.
The 1st runner-up Antrea Ckolou is expected to compete in the Miss Europe 2009 contest. The 2nd runner-up was Valentina Elsagiet.
